Meet Don Larson

Well what can I say about my old boss?

What is that saying? The more things change the more they stay the same? That certainly applies when it comes to Don and me.

If you read my bio you'd know that I worked for Don and his brother in the early '70s. Don was always pushing, always trying to get us to excel, to get more done, to do a better job. I learned a lot from Don. We all did. Not just from his input, but mostly from the example he set. Don was a working boss, and you only needed to follow his example to go home knowing you had done a days work. Don didn't just talk the talk, he walked the walk.

We became friends over those years that I worked there, and the friendship has continued ever since. Now that Don is retired, he comes here to keep an eye on us. He is a great asset to Northwest Auto & Tire. He not only takes all of our emission work to the EPA test lane for us, but he is also on call to go and retrieve that critical part that we need to finish a job on time. Don is always here to go pick up a customer, or take one home. He also oversees a lot of the maintenance around the shop. Need an electrician? Call Don. Need a plumber? Call Don. Need a carpenter? Call Don. And as always, he is still pushing for us to achieve more, do a better job, get more done. If we meet a goal, he raises the bar. Every shop needs a Don Larson!

But, of all the things Don does, the most important is that he covers for me when I am gone. It makes my life so much easier knowing that Don will be here to assist Mariska while I am away. Where else could you find someone who knows every aspect of the auto repair business, who is ready to step in and do whatever needs to be done, on such short notice? I can leave for a day, or a month, and know that the Northwest Auto & Tire is in capable hands. You can't buy that kind of peace of mind.

Don is one of the key pieces of the puzzle that makes Northwest Auto & Tire the successful business it is today!
